Promise/Threat
i won't give up he says from far away out of the dark void of nights spent wide awake and eventually frustration dissolves into anger and obsession white knuckled and tense he counts out his pills for the day adding 2 more for every phone call that was never returned swallowing his emptiness along with his medicine waiting for the numbness to take over and just before it does he whispers i won't give up Emily Soto Copyright ©2008 Emily Laurette SotoUntitled
I dream of how life used to be I dream of how life is If dreams were answers to our souls My dreams would set me free. Emily Soto Copyright ©2008 Emily Laurette SotoThings
So many say just walk away! and leave it all behind but how can one just leave the things so great a part of mind? The hours spent the money spent on dear old memories What one may deem a pile of trash these things another sees as parts of life which brought such joy of happiness once shared Now all is gone except these things as proof, once, someone cared. Well, here I am, yes once again Winds of gossip at my back. Who says, "you can't win"? Not true, unless it's backbone that you lack. Come, try me, tempt me with your guile you'll surely lose, you see... it's me who holds the winning smile. So leave, give up this game you play I never loved you anyway You used me You abused me and played it e'en to lose me and so you did. So don't you cry and carry on over this love which now is gone It's over, it's over. Emily Soto Copyright ©2008 Emily Laurette SotoNew Beginnings
The time has come to start anew, to find a meaning for my life. It's now or never, as they say to end this misery and strife. Now forging forward, I stand tall, and take this stand, ne'er will I fall. Emily Soto Copyright ©2008 Emily Laurette SotoMe and My Puzzle
You are me, and I am you Our hearts are like a puzzle With pieces of ourselves put together Our love, our thoughts, our minds are one When we are together, we laugh, we love, we are friends Friends in every sense of the word Something that only we can make or break Does it matter what other people think? We know our feelings We know what we think of ourselves Our lives are completed, we have each other When ever I'm alone and cold I think of you, and the door to my heart opens The sunshine of your smile pours in The dark color of loneliness leaves As fast as ice melts near fire Can I ever imagine myself without you? Going through life without your smile My world would be an empty place With a piece of my puzzle missing Pierina Salvati Copyright ©2008 Pierina Vincenza SalvatiA Place to be Free
A walk in the park, A place where I could be me. With you there with me We were so free. Two lovers holding hands in the winters breeze, The swans afloat, The trees with no leaves. How special we could be, in a place so free. With his back to me, An owl perched in a tree. So peaceful this sweet place, Where we could be, The "us" we wanted As a heart we carved in a tree.
